Diego Pavia Confronts WWE's Grayson Waller During Rey Mysterio Match in Video

Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia is dipping his toe in WWE competition ahead of next Wednesday's ReliaQuest Bowl versus Iowa.

Pavia got into a ringside confrontation with Grayson Waller during his match versus Rey Mysterio during the WWE Live Holiday Tour in Tampa on Saturday.

The quarterback was then joined by some of his Vanderbilt teammates to help Mysterio win the match.

Pavia wrestled while attending high school in New Mexico, graduating as three-time state finalist and winning one state championship.

He started out his college football career New Mexico State before joining Vanderbilt in 2024, most recently leading the Commodores to a 10-2 record and finishing just outside the College Football Playoff picture this season.

Pavia and his teammates are now preparing to cap off the 2025 season by taking on Iowa in a New Year's Eve bowl game. The contest is set to kick off next Wednesday at noon at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Raymond James Stadium.
