LSU's Lane Kiffin Reacts to Viral Video of Him Bringing Home Grocery Store Basket
A viral video captured LSU football head coach Lane Kiffin bringing home his groceries in a store-provided basket because he didn't want to pay for shopping bags in the self-checkout line.
Kiffin himself responded to the video and referred to the spending habits of Landry, his oldest daughter.
Kiffin just left Ole Miss for LSU and signed a seven-year, $91 million deal worth $13 million annually. That makes him the second-highest paid coach in college football per year behind only Kirby Smart of Georgia.
However, per ESPN's Adam Rittenberg, there is an automatic escalator in Kiffin's contract that would make him the sport's highest-paid coach in the country if he wins a national championship.
Kiffin is trying to turn around a Tiger program looking to move past the disappointing Brian Kelly era, which ended with the ex-Notre Dame and LSU head coach being fired in October after just three-and-a-half seasons.
Game 1 of the Kiffin era takes place on Sept. 5, 2026 at home against Clemson.
