Arnab Mondal of Athlon Sports reported on the status of their relationship in November.
"Lane and Layla's story is complicated. Reports vary, but divorce and a later private reconciliation are part of it. Layla moved back to Oxford and is visible at games. TMZ reported Layla's divorce filing back on March 4, 2016, in Los Angeles, seeking joint legal custody and primary physical custody. Lane called the split mutual and pledged amicable co-parenting."
Sam Hutchens of the Mississippi Clarion Ledger did as well.
"Kiffin has been open about his process of restoring the marriage. Layla recently moved to Oxford and has been attending the Oxford High School football games where son Knox is a sophomore quarterback."
The Kiffins share three children: daughters Landry and Presley and son Knox.
Per ESPN's Mark Schlabach, Layla and the family traveled to Baton Rouge, Louisiana (home of LSU) and Gainesville, Florida (home of the University of Florida) as the ex-Ole Miss head coach was considering leaving for either of the two schools.
Kiffin chose LSU, and now he's trying to lead the Tigers past the disappointing Brian Kelly era, which ended last October.
LSU currently has the No. 13 ranked class of 2026, per 247Sports. Kiffin's first game as the Tigers' leader will be Sept. 5 at home versus Clemson.
