Jeff Brohm Reacts to Michigan HC Rumors After Louisville's Bowl Win vs. Toledo
Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm responded to rumors linking him to Michigan's current coaching vacancy following the Cardinals' 27-22 win over Toledo in the Boca Raton Bowl.
"I don't speak on other jobs," Brohm told reporters after Tuesday's game. "I'm happy with this one and we are going to enjoy the victory."
The Wolverines have directly contacted Brohm as part of their coaching search, according to 247Sports' Sam Webb.
"Jeff Brohm from Louisville, he's been a guy they've been vetting very thoroughly from the very beginning," Webb reported Monday (via Maize n Brew's Von Lozon). "The search firm had reached out to him, reached out to his agent anyway, already. And then they made direct contact (on Sunday), and so how quickly will that escalate? If you see things escalate here quite rapidly the next couple of days, I think you could see Jeff Brohm shoot to the top of the list."
Brohm was reportedly a target for Penn State's vacancy earlier this season, but declined the opportunity.
He's a Louisville native who has compiled a 28-12 record across three years patrolling the sidelines for his alma mater. With Tuesday's victory, the Cardinals have won at least nine games in all three seasons under Brohm.
The 54-year-old started his head coaching career at Western Kentucky, amassing a 30-10 record with the Hilltoppers before going 36-34 in six years at Purdue from 2017-22.
