Tim Tebow Congratulates Fernando Mendoza on Winning 2025 Heisman Trophy in Photos

Fernando Mendoza received a shoutout from a legendary college football player after winning the 2025 Heisman Trophy award over the weekend.

Tim Tebow, who won the award while playing for Florida in 2007, congratulated the Indiana star quarterback for taking home the trophy after a phenomenal season.

Mendoza, who began his career at Cal but transferred to Indiana ahead of the 2025 campaign, had a tremendous season, throwing for 2,980 yards, 33 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also picked up 240 yards and six scores on the ground.

Behind Mendoza's Heisman season, the Hoosiers finished the regular season 12-0 before downing Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship.

Now, Indiana will head to its second consecutive College Football Playoff to try to keep its undefeated season alive. The Hoosiers have a first-round bye and will face the winner of No. 9 Alabama and No. 8 Oklahoma in the quarterfinals.
