Lane Kiffin Reveals Gifts from Drake in Photo, Invites Star to LSU Games 'Anytime!!'
New LSU football coach Lane Kiffin revealed that Drake sent him some Nocta swag and invited the musical artist to a game "anytime."
Drake's college allegiance has traditionally been with the Kentucky Wildcats, at least for basketball. He's also repped Alabama football in the past, though perhaps he's considering an allegiance change.
Kiffin has been college football's most controversial figure since leaving Ole Miss for LSU this month ahead of the Rebels making their first-ever appearance in the College Football Playoff.
Kiffin has said he wanted to remain the Ole Miss coach through the Playoffs but was understandably denied that opportunity by athletic director Keith Carter. Defensive coordinator Pete Golding was promoted to the full-time position as head coach following Kiffin's departure.
Kiffin reportedly is allowing a number of assistant coaches who followed him to LSU to coach with Ole Miss through the Playoff, including offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr., tight ends coach Joe Cox, wide receivers coach George McDonald, assistant quarterbacks coach Dane Stevens and slot wide receivers coach Sawyer Jordan.
According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, "Kiffin allowed the coaches to return in an effort to help new Ole Miss coach Golding, the staff and players maximize the opportunity ahead in the playoff appearance, the Rebels' first. All four are expected to be generally available for the run."
Ole Miss will be facing Tulane in the first round. The Rebels beat the Green Wave 45-10 on Sept. 20.
As for Drake, his sports allegiances and betting patterns have been consistently meme'd as a kiss of death in the past, so LSU might want to be wary of courting his fandom any further.
