Steph Curry Rocks A'ja Wilson, Kobe Bryant, Brandon Roy Shoes to Warriors vs. Blazers
Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry continued to fully embrace his sneaker free agency in Sunday's 136-131 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.
The two-time NBA MVP wore three different kicks for the occasion. He donned Brandon Roy's player editions of the Nike Air Max Rise while walking into Moda Center before switching into A'ja Wilson's signature shoe for warmups and then Kobe Bryant's Protros for the game itself:
Curry and Under Armour announced in November they were severing their partnership after more than a decade. The company is still releasing new sneakers for the 11-time All-Star for now, but the Curry 13s will be the final addition to his signature line:
Curry also has the luxury of donning whatever brands he wants until he signs a new sponsorship deal. He hasn't tipped his hand as to his preference, instead covering a wide spectrum in recent weeks.
If the veteran sharpshooter is superstitious at all, he might leave the Kobes in his locker for the time being.
Curry had a standout performance against the Blazers. He finished with 48 points and went 12-of-19 from beyond the arc.
Still, that wasn't enough to propel Golden State to victory. The Warriors are now back under .500 (13-14) and sit eighth in the Western Conference.
