Denzel Boston added six catches for 126 yards and a score, while Washington's defense forced five turnovers.
Washington has yet to reach the heights it climbed under former head coach Kalen DeBoer, when the team reached the National Championship Game in 2023, but the 2025 season was a step in the right direction. Saturday was an indication of that, as folks on social media noted:
There will obviously be a lot of attention paid to Fisch in the coming days given the high-profile coaching vacancy at Michigan. More than a few programs with promising coaches will be sweating during that search.
But if he remains, there's reason for optimism in Seattle. The Huskies went from 6-7 in Fisch's first season to 9-4 in 2025, and three of those losses this season came against Ohio State, Michigan and Oregon. Both the Buckeyes and Ducks are in the College Football Playoff and the Wolverines finished 18th in the rankings at 9-3, so all three losses were against quality opponents.
Losing to a Wisconsin team that finished 4-8 was obviously a disappointment, but the Huskies mitigated it somewhat by blowing out Boise State. It ends the 2025 campaign on a high note, with excitement about what might be on the horizon.
