Kenny Dillingham Addresses Michigan HC Rumors amid ASU Contract Talks
Kenny Dillingham doesn't sound like a man eager to leave Arizona State for Michigan amidst rumors that he may be the top target for the Wolverines following the firing of Sherrone Moore.
"I love this place," he told reporters regarding Arizona State, adding that he hasn't spoken with Michigan.
Speculation ramped up when Dillingham described Michigan as "one of the best programs in the country, it's one of the best logos in the country." But the 35-year-old said those comments weren't a reflection on his future.
"That doesn't change how I feel about here," he told reporters regarding Arizona State. "That doesn't change that my sister's my neighbor. That doesn't change that my parents live three doors down. ... [Michigan] is one of the best jobs in America, it's an unbelievable brand, an iconic brand, so a great opportunity for somebody."
He also confirmed that he was speaking with Arizona State about a revised contract.
"They sent my agent one after the last game at some point," Dillingham noted. "... I'm not really involved in that. That's kind of my team. I coach football."
Dillingham has gone 22-16 in three seasons with the Sun Devils, leading the team to a Big 12 title and College Football Playoff appearance in the 2024 campaign. This season the team went 8-4 and will face Duke on Dec. 31 in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl.
