Vin Diesel Teases Cristiano Ronaldo 'Fast & Furious' Role in IG Photo Caption
Actor Vin Diesel suggested Friday on social media that global soccer sensation Cristiano Ronaldo will be featured in a future installment of the Fast & Furious movie franchise.
Diesel posted a photo of himself and Ronaldo together on Instagram, and included the caption, "Everyone asked, would he be in the Fast mythology… I gotta tell you he is a real one. We wrote a role for him…"
Ronaldo, 40, is widely regarded as one of the greatest soccer players of all time, and he continues to play at a high level for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.
The all-time leader in goals across all competitions with more than 950, Ronaldo is preparing for what figures to be his final World Cup next year as the star player for Portugal.
For all of his success on the pitch, it can be argued that Ronaldo has been just as successful off of it.
With 668 million followers on Instagram, Ronaldo is one of the most followed and recognizable celebrities in the world.
Because of that, it makes plenty of sense for Diesel and those involved with the Fast & Furious franchise to want Ronaldo to make an appearance in one of the moves.
Since the debut of the original Fast & Furious in 2001, a total of 11 movies have been released under the Fast & Furious banner.
Per Business Insider, Fast & Furious is the fifth-highest-grossing film franchise in history with a total of $7.32 billion in box office earnings.
Having a star of Ronaldo's ilk in a Fast & Furious film could help get even more eyes on an already hugely popular franchise.
