Lane Kiffin Posts Voodoo Doll Meme in Reaction to Video Hyping LSU

Adam WellsDec 12, 2025

LSU head coach Lane Kiffin had some fun with GIFs in response to a video hyping the football program.

A video of former LSU baseball player Kramer Robertson declaring the university to have "voodoo" that makes it a special place, Kiffin used his X account to post a GIF of a voodoo doll being poked with a needle.

Kiffin's use of a GIF featuring a doll being poked with a needle could be interpreted as an ominous sign for the Tigers.

The idea behind voodoo dolls is that they are meant to be a small model likeness of a specific person and a spell is cast in which injuries done to the model also affect the person it is meant to represent.

Since the original comment by Robertson was about how LSU is special because of the voodoo, the GIF would be Kiffin stabbing the program in a manner that would cause it pain.

It could reasonably be argued that Kiffin didn't put that much thought into this, but that takes away the fun of analyzing what it all means. He has had a history of ugly departures, so maybe things will go awry at some point.

Based on Kiffin's track record as a head coach at the college level, it's hard to imagine the Tigers having a lot of on-field struggles for as long as he is there.

The 50-year-old has had six seasons with at least 10 wins in 14 years as a head coach. He won 11 games twice in three years at Florida Atlantic (2017 and 2019), which has never won more than nine games in a season in its 19 other years as an FBS program without him.

Mississippi won at least 10 games in four of the last five seasons. The program has two 11-win seasons in its 120 years of existence, both of came under Kiffin (2023 and 2025).

LSU hired Kiffin away from Ole Miss on Dec. 1 by giving him a seven-year, $91 million contract. He will be tasked with rebuilding the program after a disappointing 7-5 record in 2025 that saw Brian Kelly get fired on Oct. 25.

If Kiffin has voodoo dolls of the other SEC teams, it might make his job a little bit easier going into 2026.
