The four Heisman Trophy finalists that will go to New York for the ceremony were announced earlier this week, and the six players who finished behind them were revealed on Thursday.

Rodriguez was arguably the best defensive player in the nation this season, racking up 114 tackles, seven forced fumbles, six passes defended, four forced fumbles and a sack. Behind that effort, he helped lead the Red Raiders to a 12-1 season and the College Football Playoff.

While Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin will be the Buckeyes' representative in New York, Smith made a strong case of his own. The sophomore wide receiver had 80 receptions for 1,086 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns, helping lead Ohio State to a 12-1 finish.

Stockton impressed in his first season as Georgia's starter, throwing for 2,691 yards, 23 touchdowns and five interceptions. He added 442 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground.

Chambliss had a tremendous jump from the Division II level to the SEC. The Rebels' senior collected 3,016 passing yards, 18 touchdowns and just three interceptions. He also picked up 470 rushing yards and six scores on the ground.

Downs was the anchor of the Buckeyes' defense as the junior picked up 60 tackles, two interceptions, one sack and a pass defended.

King made sure to make his sixth and final season of college football count. The Yellow Jackets quarterback threw for 2,697 yards, 12 touchdowns and five interceptions along with 922 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns.

While Rodriguez, Sayin, Stockton, Chambliss and Downs missed out on being Heisman Trophy finalists, they might not have to end the season empty-handed as all five will have the chance to play for a national title.
