Mendoza shined on an Indiana squad that compiled a perfect 13-0 record, defeating Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship Game and earning the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff.

He completed 71.5 percent of his throws for 2,980 yards, leading the country with 33 touchdown passes. Mendoza was also picked off just six times despite averaging 9.4 yards per attempt.

He rushed for 240 yards and six scores as well.

Pavia helped lead Vanderbilt to a 10-2 record, marking the school's first-ever season with at least 10 wins.

The sixth-year senior completed 71.2 percent of his passes for 3,192 yards and 27 touchdowns compared to eight interceptions. Pavia routinely made plays with his legs, picking up 826 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground.

Love was the only non-quarterback selected as a finalist, and it wasn't hard to see why. He spearheaded the rushing attack of a Fighting Irish squad that owned the No. 4 scoring offense in the country by averaging 42.0 points per game.

Love rushed for 1,372 yards and 18 touchdowns in 12 games, averaging 6.9 yards per carry. He also factored into Notre Dame's passing offense, hauling in 27 receptions for 280 yards and three scores,

As for Sayin, he put together an admirable 2025 campaign despite the Buckeyes' narrow loss to the Hoosiers in the Big Ten title game. He showcased his accuracy throughout the season, as his 78.4 completion percentage was the highest in the nation.

Sayin also racked up 3,329 yards and 31 touchdowns through the air, getting picked off just six times.

All four players exceeded expectations during their respective 2025 seasons, although Mendoza ultimately took home Heisman honors.
