Deion Sanders Shows Support for Vanderbilt's Diego Pavia to Win 2025 Heisman Trophy
Deion Sanders seemingly has indicated his pick for the Heisman Trophy.
Sanders reposted a tweet from his son, Deion Sanders Jr., showing support for Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia to win the coveted award.
Pavia has made a strong case to be Vanderbilt's first Heisman Trophy winner. The senior has thrown for 3,192 yards, 27 touchdowns and eight interceptions while adding 826 yards and nine scores on the ground.
Pavia was especially dominant toward the end of the season, posting 400-plus yards of total offense in each of the last four games and collecting 16 touchdowns during that stretch.
He helped lead Vanderbilt to a 10-2 record, marking the Commodores' first 10-win season in school history.
Head coach Clark Lea called for Pavia to be a finalist after Vandy's dominant season-finale win over rival Tennessee.
"He needs to be in New York," Lea told reporters. "He's the best player in the country."
Pavia currently has the second-best odds to win the Heisman Trophy at +900, per DraftKings Sportsbook, but Indiana star quarterback Fernando Mendoza is a heavy favorite at -2500 after winning a Big 10 title on Saturday.
