Latest Heisman Trophy 2025 Odds as Fernando Mendoza Rises, Diego Pavia Falls
The 2025 Heisman Trophy race gained further clarity following Saturday's conference championship games.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza is the Heisman favorite with -1600 odds following the Hoosiers' 13-10 win against Ohio State to capture the Big Ten title. Meanwhile, Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia's odds fell to +800.
Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love and Buckeyes signal-caller Julian Sayin own +5500 and +6000 odds, respectively.
Mendoza didn't start Saturday's contest on a high note, as he tossed an interception in the first quarter that allowed Ohio State to take an early 7-3 lead.
He became more comfortable in the pocket as the game continued, finishing 15-of-23 for 222 yards and a touchdown while getting picked off once.
Mendoza's performance was especially impressive considering it came against a Buckeyes squad that owned the No. 1 scoring defense in the country heading into Saturday's slate, allowing a mere 7.8 points per game.
Indiana improved to 13-0 with the victory, putting the Hoosiers in position to secure a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff.
While Vanderbilt didn't play on Saturday, Mendoza's strong outing hurt Pavia's Heisman chances.
Pavia has still put together a strong 2025 campaign overall, completing 71.2 percent of his throws for 3,192 yards and 27 touchdowns compared to eight interceptions. He's also rushed for 826 yards and nine scores.
With the CFP rapidly approaching, Mendoza could become the first Hoosier to receive Heisman Trophy honors.
