Lane Kiffin Responds to Chef Who Made Viral Promise if HC Left Ole Miss for LSU
Lane Kiffin has responded to the viral clip of Mississippi-based chef Elizabeth Heiskell vowing to run naked through Oxford square if the coach left Ole Miss for LSU.
Responding to the clip on social media, Kiffin simply wrote "oh boy" with the emoji of a money covering its eyes.
Heiskell made the comment during a Nov. 12 appearance on The Paul Finebaum Show. She was extremely confident that Kiffin wasn't going anywhere, so much that she said this: "If he does leave us, I will strip down butt naked and I will run around the Oxford square."
Given Kiffin's history of burning fast and bright at virtually every place he has been a head coach, Heiskell's comment seemed likely to come back to bite her.
Sure enough, Kiffin announced on Dec. 1 he was leaving the Rebels to become LSU's head coach on a deal worth a reported $91 million over seven years.
Even though Heiskell, like so many Ole Miss fans, probably feels outrage over the way Kiffin played this whole thing out, she can take comfort in knowing that the Rebels will almost certainly be in the College Football Playoff when the final rankings are released on Sunday.
Mississippi is ranked No. 6 in the most recent top 25 unveiled on Tuesday. Pete Golding, who was an assistant under Kiffin for the past three seasons, has been promoted to head coach and will lead the team into the playoff if it gets a bid.
Kiffin led Mississippi to an 11-1 record this season, tied for the most wins in program history.
