Lane Kiffin Reveals His LSU Defensive Coordinator in Twitter Post After Teasing Hire
LSU football head coach Lane Kiffin is so busy at work in his first week aboard that he won't be able to make his previously scheduled appearance on College GameDay from Atlanta on Saturday.
As for the reasons, he's busy in Baton Rouge signing some new players and even retaining defensive coordinator Blake Baker:
Pete Nakos of On3 initially reported that Kiffin wanted to retain Baker, who reportedly was a candidate for Tulane's head coaching gig after Jon Sumrall left for Florida.
Kiffin has also brought over six coaches from his old staff, including offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. and co-offensive coordinator and tight ends coach Joe Cox.
Kiffin is off to a hot recruiting start at LSU.
In addition to coaches, he ended the early signing period on Friday by officially bringing in defensive tackle Lamar Brown, the No. 2 overall recruit on the 247Sports Composite list of class of 2026 prospects.
LSU is currently 13th on 247Sports' class of 2026 rankings, with two 5-star prospects and 11 4-star prospects.
