Heisman Watch 2025 Odds and Race Predictions Entering Week 15
The focus of the 2025 Heisman Trophy race will be on the Big Ten Championship Game on Saturday.
Indiana Hoosiers quarterback Fernando Mendoza enters championship weekend as the Heisman favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook.
Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Julian Sayin is currently the third favorite behind Mendoza and Vanderbilt Commodores signal-caller Diego Pavia.
Pavia's regular season is done, as is the case for Notre Dame Fighting Irish running back Jeremiyah Love, so there's a good chance the Big Ten title game winner takes home the Heisman as well.
Fernando Mendoza ( 160)
1 of 4
Fernando Mendoza carried the title of Heisman favorite for the last few weeks.
The Indiana quarterback comes into Indianapolis with 2,758 passing yards, 32 passing touchdowns and only five interceptions.
Mendoza played well in Indiana's biggest win to date against the Oregon Ducks and he produced a Heisman-worthy drive to beat the Penn State Nittany Lions.
A standout showing on a national stage against the top-ranked team in the country should be enough to secure plenty of first-place votes.
A loss to Ohio State likely takes away some first-place votes for Mendoza, but no matter what, he should still go to New York as a finalist.
Diego Pavia ( 180)
2 of 4
Diego Pavia won't have an opportunity to improve his Heisman resume this weekend.
But the Vanderbilt quarterback has already done enough to be named a finalist when that announcement happens next week.
Pavia has the most passing yards between himself, Mendoza and Sayin entering championship weekend.
He threw 27 touchdown passes, ran for 826 yards and nine scores and led Vandy to four wins over ranked opposition.
Pavia has the most robust resume in terms of stats and quality of teams he beat this season. That's why his odds have plummeted in the last week to the second favorite behind Mendoza.
Julian Sayin ( 200)
3 of 4
The quarterback of the No. 1 team in the country will always have a chance to win the Heisman.
Sayin eclipsed the 3,000-yard mark in last week's win over the Michigan Wolverines, a victory that ended Ohio State's four-game losing streak in the rivalry.
Sayin's 233-yard, three-touchdown performance against Michigan was his best against a quality opponent this season.
A comparable performance in a win over Indiana would potentially sway more voters in his direction for the award.
If Sayin beats Indiana, he'll be in direct competition with Pavia for the Heisman. Pavia has the edge in certain stats, but Sayin would have the advantage of qualifying for the College Football Playoff and a conference title.
Prediction
4 of 4
There's no guarantee that the Big Ten Championship game-winning quarterback will take home the Heisman.
However, Sayin has more potential to put up big numbers in a win than Mendoza.
Indiana's defense has been susceptible to higher point concessions against its higher-profile opponents.
On the other hand, Ohio State's defense hasn't allowed more than 16 points all season.
A victorious performance from Sayin has the potential to hoist him over Pavia as well in the Heisman race.
