Glen Powell's 'Chad Powers' CFB Comedy Series Renewed for Season 2 at Hulu
Hulu's Chad Powers, starring Glen Powell, has been renewed for a second season according to Angelique Jackson and Joe Otterson of Variety.
The premise of the show was based on a prank Eli Manning once performed at Penn State, where he went undercover for a walk-on tryout while pretending to be an unknown recruit.
The show, meanwhile, is based on the fictional Russ Holliday, a once-star quarterback who made a game-deciding mistake in the National Championship and saw his football career unravel. He seeks a second chance at a college career, and personal redemption, when he disguises himself as the fabricated "Chad Powers" and tries out for the fictional South Georgia Catfish.
Chad Powers has joined Ted Lasso as the latest sports show to be surprisingly good, through its humor and heart, despite an absolutely absurd origin and premise.
