Colorado Football Recruiting 2025, Deion Sanders' Top Commits Landed and Predictions

Joe TanseyDec 3, 2025

Deion Sanders' Colorado Buffaloes might have to heavily rely on the transfer portal to retool their roster for the 2026 season.

As of Wednesday morning, Colorado owns the No. 99 recruiting class in the class of 2026, per 247Sports.

Colorado's recruiting class only has two four-star players, a sign that heavy lifting may be done in the portal this offseason.

Colorado's Top Commits

Carson Crawford, LB, Carthage HS (TX)

Carson Crawford is the top recruit in Colorado's class of 2026.

The four-star linebacker from Texas is the No. 202 overall recruit in 247Sports' composite rankings.

More than half of the recruits committed to the Buffaloes play on the defensive side of the ball.

Preston Ashley, S, Brandon HS (MS)

Preston Ashley is the other four-star recruit in Colorado's current list of signees.

Ashley is a top-30 safety in the class of 2026 and brings needed depth to the Buffaloes defense alongside Crawford.

It's important to note Colorado's reach within the class of 2026. Ashley, a Mississippi native, is one of eight commits from southern states headed to Boulder.

Sanders' presence on the sideline has drawn many recruits from the southern and eastern states, not just California and in-state in Colorado where the Buffaloes might have focused before.
