Will Lane Kiffin's Dog Juice Go to LSU or Stay at Ole Miss?

Juice Kiffin may not be making the trek to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, after Lane Kiffin accepted the LSU job.

For The Win's Charles Curtis was unable to confirm with Ole Miss, LSU or Wildrose Kennels what the future holds for Juice.

This is yet another subplot to Kiffin's blockbuster move to an SEC rival with the Rebels in position to earn a College Football Playoff berth.

Juice, a yellow Labrador retriever, built a sizable social media following as the unofficial mascot for Ole Miss football. He was a fixture at home games and even retrieved the kicking tee on occasion.

Kiffin has quickly become public enemy No. 1 in the state of Mississippi. A small group of fans assembled at University-Oxford Airport to jeer him as he boarded a private jet out of town. In his introductory press conference for LSU, the coach also claimed one fan tried to run him off the road.

With emotions clearly raw, Curtis noted how some Ole Miss followers are wondering whether Kiffin's perceived disloyalty extends to Juice. They've gone so far to ask if this was all a sham and Lane basically used Juice for clout.

Aaron Brynildson, an NFL agent and law instructor at Ole Miss, tried to set the record straight. He said Kiffin's demanding schedule made it tough for him to care for Juice on a nightly basis, but Juice is "Lane's dog."

There's nothing quite like college football. Imagine trying to explain this story to anybody who doesn't follow the sport.

If Lane really did leave Juice behind in Oxford, then the retriever will have no shortage of people willing to step up and ensure he has a good home.
