Early National Signing Day 2025 Top Uncommitted Football Recruits to Watch
The majority of the college football recruiting class of 2026 locked up their commitments prior to the national signing window opening on Wednesday.
However, a handful of top-100 recruits have yet to make their decisions. They will be under the most focus during the Wednesday-Friday signing window.
Top Uncommitted Recruits to Watch
Jordan Carter, EDGE, Douglas County HS (GA)
Jordan Carter is one of the highest-profile recruits yet to make an official commitment.
The EDGE rusher from Georgia was committed to Texas A&M, but he decommitted in November.
Tennessee, Georgia Tech and Auburn are among the programs at the top of the race for Carter's signature.
According to ESPN's Eli Lederman, Tennessee and Georgia Tech are the "clear leaders" in Carter's recruitment.
Auburn is a fascinating third party, though, because it just solidified its future with the Alex Golesh hiring.
Which coaches Golesh retains, or brings with him from South Florida, might produce another turn in Carter's decision and the fates of other recruits already committed to Auburn.
Tennessee is looking to land Carter as one of the final pieces to its top-10 recruiting class. If Carter stays in state, he would be Georgia Tech's top recruit in the class of 2026.
Sam Utu, OT, Orange Lutheran HS (CA)
Sam Utu is the top unsigned offensive recruit in ESPN's recruiting rankings.
The California native had pledged to Alabama, but since his decommitment, SMU has been linked with him.
Lederman reported SMU is the "clear favorite" to bring in the four-star offensive tackle.
If he signs with SMU, Utu would be the highest-ranked recruit in the Mustangs' class of 2026.
The majority of SMU's top recruits are in-state players. Signing Utu away from California, where a ton of top programs regularly scout, would be a strong finish to the Mustangs' recruiting cycle.
