CFP Playoff Bracket, Scenarios and Bowl Projections After 2025-26 Week 15 AP Rankings

The movement in the Week 15 AP Top 25 could be an indicator for what we see in Tuesday's College Football Playoff rankings.

The Georgia Bulldogs moved up a spot to No. 3 behind the Ohio State Buckeyes and Indiana Hoosiers.

The Texas A&M Aggies, who were No. 3, dropped four spots to No. 7 after their loss to the Texas Longhorns.

The action at the back end of the poll is fascinating as well given the potential scenarios in play for the Group of Five teams during conference championship weekend.

Georgia Moves up to No. 3 Ahead of SEC Championship Game

Georgia inched up one spot to No. 3 to take Texas A&M's spot in the top four.

The Bulldogs are in line to earn a first-round bye in the CFB Playoff if they beat Alabama in the SEC Championship Game.

Kirby Smart's team is viewed as the best one-loss team by the AP voters. The lone loss came at the hands of Alabama in September.

Georgia's historically struggled with the Crimson Tide during Smart's tenure in Athens. A change in fortune would keep UGA in the top four.

A loss would put the poll voters and the CFB Playoff selection committee in a tough spot.

A two-loss Georgia would be compared to the one-loss Oregon Ducks without a conference title game appearance and the one-loss Texas Tech Red Raiders, who are favored to beat the BYU Cougars in the Big 12 Championship Game.

Texas A&M Tumbles to No. 7

Texas A&M's loss to Texas cost it four spots in the AP poll.

If a similar tumble happens on Tuesday, A&M will be in line for a first-round home game in the CFB Playoff.

A&M entered rivalry weekend two wins away from a first-round bye, but the defeat in Austin took that possibility away.

Mike Elko's team could be lined up with either the Notre Dame Fighting Irish or Alabama if the polls hold. The potential clash with Notre Dame would be a rematch from one of the best games of the regular season won by A&M in South Bend in Week 2.

Top Group of Five Teams Flood Back End of Top 25

The James Madison Dukes, North Texas Mean Green, Tulane Green Wave and Navy Midshipmen all reside in the back half of the AP Top 25.

North Texas and Tulane will play each other in the American Conference Championship Game. The winner of that contest is expected to earn the Group of Five's automatic bid into the CFB Playoff.

James Madison takes on the Troy Trojans in the Sun Belt Championship Game on Friday as well.

JMU is behind Tulane in the CFB Playoff rankings, but a win, especially a big one, would be significant for the Dukes.

There is a chance that two Group of Five conference champions qualify for the playoff field if the Duke Blue Devils beat the Virginia Cavaliers in the ACC Championship Game and either the American champion or JMU is ranked ahead of Duke.
