Yankees' Cam Schlittler Attends Bruins Game After Trolling Red Sox Fans in Viral Posts

New York Yankees pitcher Cam Schlittler is taking his own advice by attending a Boston Bruins game.

Schlittler posted a photo of himself in a custom Bruins jersey on his Instagram story during a Saturday night game against the visiting Detroit Red Wings.

Schlittler previously responded to a post from a fan telling him he wasn't from Boston by telling him to start preparing for the Bruins season.

Schlittler was drafted by the New York Yankees out of Northeastern in 2022. He helped the Yankees eliminate the Boston Red Sox from the 2025 AL Wild Card series by recording the win in the series-deciding Game 3.

During that clinching Oct. 2 game, Schlittler allowed five hits while striking out 12 batters in eight scoreless innings of the Yankees' 4-0 win.

He told reporters ahead of the contest that Red Sox fans had "crossed the line" by harassing his family about him playing against his hometown team, per ESPN's Jorge Castillo.

"I think if it was a different fan base coming at them, I'd probably be a little bit more OK with it," Schlittler said, per Castillo. "I think it just being Boston was a little bit more disappointing."

Schlittler went on to ensure the Red Sox were eliminated from the 2025 postseason, while the Yankees went on to play the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALDS.

The pitcher said in a statement shared Nov. 5 on social media: "I know I've been vocal since that start, but I truly respect Boston and that organization. A rivalry is a rivalry, and my loyalty is with New York for as long as I'm here.

"New York and Boston are both part of who I am, and I'm fortunate to continue growing as a player connected to two great cities."

The Bruins celebrated Schlittler's attendance by defeating the Red Wings 3-2 in a shootout while Morgan Geekie tied the Colorado Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon for the NHL scoring lead with his 20th goal of the season.
