Best Golazos from World Football This Weekend

Ryan BaileyJul 26, 2015

With several of Europe's top leagues in full flow and friendlies taking place all over the globe, the weekend provided more than enough world-class goals to fill our top-10 ranking.

Honourable mentions this week go to Real Salt Lake's Benny Feilhaber, Sheffield United's Kieron Freeman for his stunner against Newcastle United, David Villa's neat touch and finish for New York City FC and Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk's Nikola Kalinic's overhead kick against Chornomorets Odessa in Ukraine.

Enjoy the ranking, and be sure to leave a comment about your favourite.

10. Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund) vs. Juventus

1 of 10

Thomas Tuchel's promising start as Borussia Dortmund manager continued on Saturday when his side pulled off a 2-0 friendly victory over Italian champions Juventus in St. Gallen.

The highlight of the game was a brilliant solo effort from Marco Reus, which saw the BVB forward run from inside his own half before finishing in style.

Admittedly, Reus didn't really face any pressure until he reached the opposition box, but it was definitely a strike to remember.

9. Michal Zyro (Legia Warsaw) vs. Podbeskidzie

2 of 10

Legia Warsaw brushed aside Polish Ekstraklasa opponents Podbeskidzie on Saturday with a 5-0 hammering, which featured a fine effort from midfielder Michal Zyro.

Winning the ball with his back to goal just outside the area, the 22-year-old proceeded to tee himself up for an unstoppable, left-footed half-volley into the top corner.

8. Andrew Halliday (Rangers) vs. Hibernian

3 of 10

Rangers started their competitive 2015-16 season with a Challenge Cup tie at Hibernian. The Gers went behind and pulled level in the 39th minute through an excellent free-kick from James Tavernier.

The best goal of the game, however, came while the visitors ran riot in the second half to emerge with a convincing 6-2 victory, as Andrew Halliday curled a wonderful left-footed effort in off the bar.

Evidently, the chap who made this Vine was impressed.

7. Edmilson Junior (Sint-Truiden) vs. Club Brugge

4 of 10

The Belgian Pro League kicked off on Friday evening, with title contenders Club Brugge visiting Sint-Truiden.

The hosts earned a 2-1 victory thanks to a long-range stunner from Brazilian midfielder Edmilson Junior in the 74th minute.

6. Youri Tielemans (Anderlecht) vs. Waasland-Beveren

5 of 10

Elsewhere in the Belgian Pro League, Anderlecht were drawing 2-2 with Waasland-Beveren on Saturday as their game entered the third minute of stoppage time.

Then, precocious midfielder Youri Tielemans picked up the ball and proceeded to blast in a stunning winner that will do his reputation as one of the most exciting young players in Europe no harm.

5. Karim Benzema (Real Madrid) vs. Manchester City

6 of 10

Real Madrid won the Australian leg of the International Champions Cup with a 4-1 victory over Manchester City in front of a packed house at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday evening.

The pick of the goals was Karim Benzema's volley to open the scoring in the 21st minute, which was assisted by a Gareth Bale cross.

4. Jordon Ibe (Liverpool) vs. Malaysia XI

7 of 10

Liverpool's tour of the Far East concluded on Friday night with a game against a Malaysia XI in Kuala Lumpur.

The Reds were trailing until the 28th minute, when Jordon Ibe equalised with a superb solo effort from the right flank.

Suddenly, the prospect of a season without Raheem Sterling on the right wing doesn't seem so daunting.

3. Will Hughes (Derby County) vs. Utrecht

8 of 10

Things got a little ugly during Derby County's friendly visit to FC Utrecht on Friday evening, as riot police arrested 15 fans, per the Derby Telegraph. There was nothing ugly, however, about midfielder Will Hughes' wonder goal.

The 20-year-old midfielder teed himself up for a volley around 25 yards from goal and proceeded to perfectly loop the ball over the 'keeper.

2. Armin Hodzic (Dinamo Zagreb) vs. Inter Zapresic

9 of 10

Dinamo Zagreb laid down a marker in the third round of the 1. HNL (Croatian top division) on Saturday with a 5-1 in over Inter Zapresic.

Bosnian striker Armin Hodzic bagged a hat-trick, which began with a sublime overhead kick in the eighth minute.

It was extremely difficult not to label this the top goal of the weekend, but the reason for that will become apparent shortly.

1. Philippe Mexes (Milan) vs. Internazionale

10 of 10

The Milan derby is typically held at the San Siro, but the International Champions Cup edition on Saturday unfolded at the Shenzhen City Stadium in China.

Just after the hour mark, Philippe Mexes settled the game in Milan's favour with an absolutely stunning volley directly from a Giacomo Bonaventura corner.

Not a bad finish for a centre-back!
