The moment happened after Ole Miss closed its regular season with a 38-19 over rival Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl, locking in its spot in the College Football Playoff. The Rebels, who were seventh in the latest CFP rankings, are now 11-1.

After the game, ESPN's Taylor McGregor asked if Kiffin had made a choice between Ole Miss or LSU.

"No, I haven't," Kiffin replied. "I've got a lot of praying to do to figure that out tomorrow."

Kiffin was previously connected with Florida as well. However, earlier Friday, Zach Abolverdi of Gators Online that Florida didn't expect to get Kiffin.

Ole Miss athletic director Keith Carter previously said that there would be an announcement on Kiffin's future the day after the Egg Bowl.

It's clear that Kiffin hasn't made his mind up yet, and he told reporters after the game that he was still contemplating his decision and would call up a few coaching greats about what to do. He also still wished he could speak with his father, the late Monte Kiffin, a long-time college and NFL coach who passed last year.

LSU is in the market for a new head coach after parting ways with Brian Kelly last October. He'd be getting a massive payday if he takes the job, per ESPN's Andrea Adelson.

"Not only is Kiffin set to receive a reported $98 million deal to become the highest-paid coach in college football if he takes the LSU job, but according to Yahoo Sports, the school has promised to enhance NIL-related roster investments to more than $25 million. That is quite the commitment for a school that just spent $18 million in 2025 in the hopes it would compete for a championship."

Kiffin has previously said the decision won't be impacted by money. In the end, the waiting game continues for one more day as Ole Miss and LSU fans hope that Kiffin is patrolling their sidelines next year and beyond.
