Preview
Michigan has had Ohio State's number in the rivalry over the last four years.
The Wolverines scored over 30 points on the Buckeyes defense in three of their last four victories. They won a defensive battle by a 13-10 score a year ago in Columbus.
This time around, all of the pressure is once again on the Buckeyes, who have looked like the top team in college football since their Week 1 win over the Texas Longhorns.
The trademark of this Ohio State team is its defense, which has not allowed more than 16 points in a single game all season.
The Buckeyes held six opponents to single digits and each of their last three opponents scored either nine or 10 points.
Freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood will be tasked with unlocking the Ohio State defense full of potential first-round picks in the 2026 NFL draft to keep Michigan's winning streak alive.
Michigan's defense routinely allowed over 20 points, including in each of the last three games. The Wolverines offense is coming off one of its better performances of the season, as it put up 45 points on the Maryland Terrapins.
Ohio State's offense has been as prolific as its defense, but it comes in with some health concerns after Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate sat out last weekend's win over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
Both standout wide receivers should play on Saturday, but they might be a bit limited because of their knocks. That should hamper Ohio State on one or two drives.
Buckeyes quarterback Julian Sayin is in the mix for the Heisman Trophy, and if he delivers a massive performance through the air, he might jump to the top of the favorites list.
Ohio State is the far better team on paper in both departments, but that didn't matter a year ago, when the Wolverines went into Columbus and won.
A rivalry win would do wonders for Ryan Day and his staff, and with the defense playing the way it has all season, it's hard to imagine the Buckeyes don't leave Michigan with a win.
Prediction: Ohio State 17, Michigan 9
