The Lakers joined the Toronto Raptors in the knockout round. The other six quarterfinalists will be determined through Wednesday and Friday's group-stage games.

  4. Boston (1-2; -20)
  5. Philadelphia (0-3; -51)

East Group C

  1. Milwaukee (2-0; +16)
  2. Miami (2-1; +46)
  3. New York (1-1; -2)
  4. Chicago (1-2; -42)
  5. Charlotte (0-2; -18)

West Group A

  1. Oklahoma City (2-0; +63)
  2. Phoenix (2-0; +23)
  3. Minnesota (2-1; +53)
  4. Sacramento (0-2; -45)
  5. Utah (0-3; -94)

West Group B

  1. Los Angeles Lakers (3-0; +36)
  2. Los Angeles Clippers (2-1; -15)
  3. Memphis (1-1; -9)
  4. Dallas (1-2; -11)
  5. New Orleans (0-3; -19)

West Group C

  1. Portland (2-1; -18)
  2. Denver (2-1; +26)
  3. San Antonio (1-1; +10)
  4. Houston (1-2; +10)
  5. Golden State (1-2; -28)

The Lakers won West Group B on Tuesday.

They also affected the race to be the Western Conference's top second-place team. The Clippers are 2-1 in group play, but they have a -15 point differential.

The teams still alive in West Groups A and C all have positive point differentials, so the Clippers must blow out the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday and then get some help from elsewhere to advance.

West Group A comes into focus on Wednesday, as the Minnesota Timberwolves visit the Oklahoma City Thunder.

OKC needs head-to-head wins over Minnesota and Phoenix Suns on Friday to claim first place in West Group A. If Minnesota beats OKC, Phoenix could control its fate. The Suns could move to 3-0 in group play with a win over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday.

The Portland Trail Blazers can lock up first in West Group C with a win over the San Antonio Spurs. Portland already beat the Denver Nuggets and Golden State Warriors.

A win over San Antonio would put all the West Group C tiebreakers in Portland's favor. That would leave Denver to fight for the top second-place spot in the West in Friday's clash with San Antonio.

The math in the Eastern Conference groups is far simpler after the Atlanta Hawks were shockingly blown out by the Washington Wizards on Tuesday.

Four teams are realistically in the hunt for the top second-place spot in the East. The Cleveland Cavaliers need to beat Atlanta on Friday and run up the score to have the best shot of advancing since Toronto already won East Group A.

East Group B will come down the Orlando-Detroit game on Friday. Detroit can improve its record to 3-0 if it beats the Boston Celtics on Wednesday.

The Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks face off for first place in East Group C on Wednesday. The New York Knicks are still alive as well.

New York already beat Miami, so if it beats the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday and then the Bucks on Friday, it can win the group on head-to-head results.

Predictions

Eastern Conference: Toronto, Orlando, New York, Cleveland
