Allen suited up for the Cowboys from 2015-17 until the Bills selected him with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft.
Saturday marked his first time back in Laramie since he was drafted by Buffalo (h/t ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg).
Allen wasn't a highly touted prospect coming out of high school, as he opened his collegiate career at Reedley Community College in California before transferring to Wyoming ahead of the 2015 season.
He was limited to just two appearances in his first year at the school due to a broken collarbone, but led the Cowboys to a combined record of 16-11 over his next two years with the program.
Allen displayed the arm strength and scrambling ability that helped him become one of the NFL's top quarterbacks, completing 56.1 percent of his throws for 5,015 yards and 44 touchdowns compared to 21 interceptions from 2016-17.
He also rushed for 727 yards and 12 scores over that span.
Allen helped Wyoming secure a win in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl during the 2017 season, earning MVP honors after tossing three touchdowns.
The reigning NFL MVP is in the midst of another strong year with the Bills, completing a career-high 69.7 percent of his passes for 2,709 yards and 18 touchdowns while getting picked off nine times.
