Where Will Houston's Kingston Flemings Be Drafted? NBA Scouts Weigh In on Landing Spot
Few college basketball players have made as much of an impression in the early season as Houston freshman Kingston Flemings, and NBA scouts are noticing.
Sam Vecenie of The Athletic spoke to NBA scouts for a Thursday piece and reported "the consensus" is "Flemings looks poised to be a one-and-done with potential to go quite high in the draft" with some saying his "ceiling" is as high as the third guard selected behind Kansas' Darryn Peterson and Louisville's Mikel Brown Jr.
Vecenie reported the scouts still want a larger sample size when it comes to catch-and-shoots and pull-ups from the outside, his ability to see the floor as a passer, and whether his defense improves as the season progresses.

But it is clear the talent is there to be a potential top-10 pick.
He arrived at Houston as a 5-star prospect, the No. 16 overall player and the No. 3 point guard in the 2025 class, per 247Sports' composite rankings, and is already one of the team leaders.
Flemings is averaging 17.3 points, 5.3 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting 69.2 percent from the field and 40 percent from deep in four contests. His most impressive performance came in Sunday's 73-72 victory over Auburn given it was an SEC foe after starting the season against overmatched teams.
The freshman posted 22 points, seven assists and five rebounds behind 8-of-13 shooting from the field. He was an efficient scorer and also looked to distribute when defenders collapsed on him.
B/R's Jonathan Wasserman projected Flemings as the No. 9 overall pick to the Charlotte Hornets in his latest mock draft and listed George Hill as a pro comparison.
"Flemings has been efficient across the board, demonstrating a tight handle for getting to spots, speed, body control and touch on drives/finishes, a threatening mid-range game with a high release, willing vision and passing IQ and capable shooting range early on," Wasserman wrote.
If that continues, the Houston guard could hear his name called early in the 2026 NBA draft.
