Dylan Raiola's Brother Dayton Decommits from Nebraska, Scouting Report on 3-Star QB

Doric SamNov 19, 2025

Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola won't have his younger brother following in his footsteps after all.

Per ESPN's Eli Lederman, Dayton Raiola de-committed from Nebraska on Wednesday and reopened his recruitment ahead of the early signing period. The younger Raiola is rated as a 3-star prospect and the No. 99 quarterback in the class of 2026 in 247Sports' composite.

Lederman noted that Raiola is a two-year starter at Buford High School in Georgia. He originally committed to the Cornhuskers in September 2024, choosing to join his brother's team over offers from Appalachian State and Charlotte.

This marks the fourth de-commitment from Nebraska's 2026 recruiting class, which hasn't really impressed so far. Cornerback Danny Odem and offensive tackle Claude Mpouma, both of whom are 4-star recruits in 247Sports' composite, headline the class, which no longer includes a quarterback after Raiola jumped ship. The Cornhuskers hold a commitment from 2027 quarterback Trae Taylor, who is a 4-star prospect and ranked as the No. 4 QB in the class.

Still, it's not all doom and gloom for Nebraska, as the team improved to 7-3 with a 28-21 win over UCLA on Nov. 8. True freshman quarterback TJ Lateef, who started in place of Dylan Raiola following his season-ending broken fibula suffered on Nov. 1 against USC, led the way with 205 yards and three touchdowns on 13-of-15 passing.

Before his season came to an end, Dylan Raiola made nine starts for the Cornhuskers and threw for 2,000 yards, 18 touchdowns and six interceptions while completing 72.4 percent of his passes. He will now have some extra time on his hands to advise his younger brother as he makes his way through the recruitment process over the next few weeks.
