Recruit Kevin Brown Burns Couch on Video After Flipping Commitment to WVU from PSU

Four-star class of 2026 offensive tackle recruit Kevin Brown announced his commitment to West Virginia on Tuesday's edition of the Pat McAfee Show, and to celebrate the occasion, he lit a couch on fire.

West Virginia fans have infamously lit couches on fire after big wins.

Brown was originally committed to Penn State, but like other Nittany Lion recruits, he de-committed after the school fired head coach James Franklin. He visited WVU and Ohio State but ultimately picked the Mountaineers.

The 6'5", 270-pound Brown is ranked as the No. 49 overall player and No. 5 offensive tackle in his class, per 247Sports' Composite list of class of 2026 players.

Brown is a huge commitment for head coach Rich Rodriguez. He's the first 4-star prospect in the Mountaineers' class of 2026. Per ESPN's Eli Lederman, Brown is the Mountaineers' "highest-ranked signee in at least 15 years." He will be signing during the early signing period, which runs from December 3-5.

There were West Virginia connections for this commitment. The Harrisburg, Pennsylvania native's father, Tim Brown, played offensive tackle at West Virginia. Brown also notably announced the commitment to McAfee, who punted and kicked for West Virginia from 2005-2008.

Soon enough, Brown will be playing in Morgantown in hopes of turning around a program that is just 4-7 going into its last game vs. Texas Tech on Nov. 29. Brown can certainly help lead a turnaround, however, in hopes of restoring West Virginia's past success.
