Who is Kewan Lacy? Everything You Need to Know About Ole Miss RB After Historic Game

Julia StumbaughNov 16, 2025

Kewan Lacy is enjoying the highest-scoring season of any running back in Ole Miss history.

Lacy recorded 31 carries for 224 yards and three touchdowns during Ole Miss' 34-24 Saturday night win over Florida.

The outing made him the first Rebels player to record 17 rushing touchdowns in a single season.

Lacy's historic night was highlighted by a 41-yard gain in the first quarter and a 59-yard run in the fourth.

Missouri originally beat out Ole Miss to secure a commitment from Lacy ahead of the 2024 season. After appearing in six games for Mizzou during his freshman year, however, Lacy transferred to Oxford last winter.

Lacy went into Saturday's game having recorded 200 carries for 912 yards and 16 touchdowns during the Rebels' 9-1 start to the season. He had also totaled 22 catches for 134 yards.

The Ole Miss single-season rushing touchdown record was previously held by Quinshon Judkins, who ran in 16 touchdowns in 2022 and followed that up with another 15 in 2023.

Judkins transferred to Ohio State ahead of the 2024 season, however, where he helped lead the Buckeyes to a national title last winter.

Lane Kiffin was able to lean on his run game again in 2024 thanks to pairing quarterback Jaxson Dart with Henry Parrish Jr. and Ulysses Bentley IV, who combined for 1,592 total rushing yards last season.

After all three closed out their college careers last winter, however, Kiffin snagged Lacy following just one day in the transfer portal.

The transfer presented Lacy, who appeared in six games and recorded 104 rushing yards and no touchdowns as a freshman for Mizzou, with the opportunity to operate as an RB1 for the first time in his college career.

"It was just finding the best fit for me and where I can show my abilities... I just love the offense and how fast-paced it is and how it's NFL-ready," Lacy said when joining the Rebels for spring training in April.

Lacy has now gone from a fourth-string running back to one of the most productive runners in college football, while Ole Miss remains in contention for the program's inaugural College Football Playoff berth following Saturday's win over Florida.
