The aurora borealis has been visible throughout long stretches of the country for the past two nights.

Per the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (h/t Daisy Dobrijevic of Space.com), the strong geomagnetic storm conditions caused by an X5.1 class solar flare made it so that as many as 17 states could have a full or partial view of the northern lights.

Those states ranged from Alaska to the pacific northwest and all the way out to New York overnight from Wednesday into Thursday.

In addition to the dazzling natural light show, fans at Yager Stadium were treated to an impressive performance from the visiting team. Toledo won the game 24-3 thanks to two touchdown passes from Tucker Gleason and a rushing touchdown from Chip Trayanum.
