The new threads are inspired by the 250th anniversary of the United States Army.

Per the 1775 Football website, Army and Nike collaborated on the uniforms that are meant to honor the Army's Warrior Ethos: "I will always place the mission first, I will never accept defeat, I will never quit. I will never leave a fallen comrade."

Notable features on the uniform include a marble print color scheme, the U.S. Army seal on the sides of the helmet, a purple outline on the jersey numbers that references the color of the Military Badge of Merit awarded from 1782-83 and the current color for the Purple Heart awarded to soldiers wounded or killed while serving.

The typography on the uniform matches the style in which the U.S. Constitution was written. There is also a "1775" decal on the back of the helmet to signify the year that the Continental Congress established the Continental Army representing the 13 original colonies in the war against the British that ultimately led to the establishment of the United States.

Army and Navy will meet on Dec. 13 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. It is the 126th all-time meeting between the two military schools. The Midshipmen lead the series 63-55-7, but the Black Knights have won six of the last nine games dating back to 2016.
