
Jeremiah Smith-Julian Sayin Connection Wows CFB Fans as No. 1 Ohio State Routs Purdue
Julian Sayin, Jeremiah Smith and the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes cruised to a 34–3 road victory over Purdue on Saturday.
Sayin threw for 303 yards and one touchdown while completing 27-of-33 passes with one interception, connecting with Smith for a touchdown and 137 yards. CJ Donaldson added two rushing touchdowns, and Lincoln Kienholz contributed a score on the ground.
Purdue's Ryan Brown struggled, completing 10-of-19 passes for 76 yards and one interception as the Purdue Boilermakers fell to 2–8 on the season.
With the win, the Buckeyes remained undefeated at 9–0 on the season as Sayin and Smith once again led the charge in another dominant performance.
After taking a commanding 24–3 lead at halftime, scoring on four of five offensive possessions and forcing an interception in the second quarter, Ohio State looked nearly unstoppable as Purdue entered the break desperate for adjustments.
Sayin opened the third quarter with an 8:34 drive that ended in an interception, but Purdue failed to capitalize on the turnover.
The Buckeyes added 10 points in the fourth after being shut out in the third, cruising to an easy 34–3 win over Purdue.
Ohio State will host UCLA next Saturday with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
