Deion Sanders, Colorado Trolled by CFB Fans After Loss to WVU Clinches Losing Season
Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes clinched a losing season with a 29–22 loss to the West Virginia Mountaineers on the road Saturday.
With the loss, Colorado fell to 3–7 on the season with two games remaining and extended its losing streak to three following blowout defeats to Utah, 53–7, and Arizona, 52–17.
True freshman quarterback Julian Lewis battled in the loss, throwing for 299 yards and two touchdowns while completing 22-of-35 passes, connecting with Omarion Miller for a touchdown and 131 yards and Joseph Williams for another score.
Sanders was roasted by fans after Colorado officially clinched a losing season on Saturday.
West Virginia opened the game with a safety in the first quarter, then found the end zone to take a 9–0 lead. Both teams traded scores in the second quarter, each recording a field goal and a touchdown, as Colorado entered halftime trailing 19–9.
The Buffaloes gained some momentum in the third, forcing two interceptions and converting one into a quick two-play touchdown drive while holding WVU to just a field goal to cut the deficit heading into the final quarter.
Despite adding an early field goal in the fourth, Colorado couldn't sustain its push, giving up a late touchdown and using questionable time management on a drive that ended with a field goal, sealing a 29–22 loss.
The Buffaloes will head into their bye week before hosting Arizona State on Saturday, Nov. 22.
