Heat Announce Return of 'Vice Nights' City Edition Uniform in Photo
Seven years after the debut of their "Vice Nights" jersey, the Miami Heat are finally bringing them back.
The Heat announced on Saturday they will re-debut their popular jersey as part of their City Edition uniform collection for their Nov. 12 game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Heat will also be wearing a patch on the jersey commemorating the 20th anniversary of their championship season in 2005-06. They defeated the Dallas Mavericks in the 2006 NBA Finals to win the first title in franchise history.
Michael McCullough, Heat executive vice president and chief marketing officer, told Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald that the return of the jersey itself isn't the only "Vice Nights"-related items the club has in store for this season.
"We're super excited about 'Vice Nights,'" McCullough said. "This was our most successful uniform campaign to date, and we are very excited to be bringing it back with some twists and turns along the way."
As part of the Heat's announcement on Saturday, it was noted the "Vice Nights" jersey remains the "best-selling team City Edition uniform in NBA history" with more than 90,000 sold just through the official team store.
The Heat's original "Vice Nights" jersey came out in 2017-18 in white, then the following season they introduced the black version. They have also introduced different versions in blue gale (ViceWave) and pink and turquoise (ViceVersa).
