Dylan Raiola Reportedly Out for Nebraska's Season After Broken Leg Injury vs. USC

Paul KasabianNov 2, 2025

Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola is out for the season with a broken right fibula, per ESPN's Pete Thamel.

The injury occurred as he was being sacked by USC defensive end Anthony Lucas in the third quarter of the Cornhuskers' 21-17 home loss to USC on Saturday.

Raiola was a five-star prospect out of Buford (Georgia) High School in 2024 and a major addition to head coach Matt Rhule's team last season. He has strong family ties to Nebraska. His father is ex-NFL offensive lineman Dominic Raiola, who starred for the Cornhuskers and won the Rimington Trophy. In addition, his uncle is Cornhuskers offensive line coach Donovan Raiola.

The sophomore fared quite well in year two, completing 72.4 percent of his passes for 2,000 yards (8.0 yards per attempt), 18 touchdowns and six interceptions. Nebraska also went 6-2 (3-2 in Big Ten) entering Saturday.

Railoa's toughness was showcased here as he wanted to return to the game, but head coach Matt Rhule smartly kept him out.

Raiola issued a statement on social media after the injury.

Hopefully Raiola returns back to 100 percent health ASAP and is ready for the Cornhuskers' 2026 season opener.

Nebraska has three regular season games remaining (plus a presumed bowl game) in 2025. Freshman TJ Lateef, who replaced Raiola, is next on the depth chart, followed by junior Jalyn Gramstad.
