Myles Turner Calls Out 'Clip Farming Culture' After Viral Video of Haliburton Comments

Milwaukee Bucks center Myles Turner isn't happy to see the comments he made about former teammate Tyrese Haliburton on a Thursday episode of the Thanalysis Show clipped out of context.

Turner told fans not to let "clip farming culture" get to their head when reposting the full clip of his comments.

The clip that went viral showed Turner saying: "Tyrese, also, he knows he's protected, too. So he can go out there, talk his s--t, say whatever the hell he wants to do, and he knows he has backup at the end of the day. Now, he's not going to be talking the same s--t if he's in the middle of the street."

The clip cuts off before Turner concluded that's part of the reason why there's no "beef" between him and Haliburton despite now playing on rival teams.

"When we're on the court, yeah, of course I'm trying to bust your ass. That's how it is. But off the floor, man, I want you to win," Turner said of Haliburton.

Turner started out the conversation by calling Haliburton a "troll" and saying he "enjoys and embraces" his role as a heel.

"I do think that at times he got pushed into that, just because of the perception, how people were talking about him, and how he's had to carry himself. But he definitely embodies that," Turner said.

Turner was then asked to share some "good stuff" about Haliburton, which led to more than a minute of him praising his former teammate.

"First and foremost, bro, you've got to respect the way he handled himself in his career," Turner said at the 46:45 mark of the podcast. "Coming from Sacramento, and coming from that situation, it's a heartbreaking thing. You think you're about the be the face of the franchise, then you come to Indiana and damn near reinvent yourself through everything."

Turner continued: "Two, as a teammate, he's a hell of a teammate. You know we talk about how you're supposed to, as a team, come together and have camaraderie? He's setting up all the team dinners. He's setting up all the team parties. He wants people to be together.

"Third, when it comes to the family. He's very close to his... He makes it hard on himself to root for him just because of the way, the s--t that he does at times, but as a competitor, bro, you have to respect the way he rocks."

The torn Achilles tendon Haliburton suffered in Game 7 of the Finals was arguably the biggest factor in why the Pacers lost out on their title shot to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

One month later, Turner signed a four-year, $109 million deal in Milwaukee. Pacers president of basketball operations Kevin Pritchard told reporters at the time he hadn't gotten a chance to match the Bucks' offer.

Turner explained days later he saw signing with the Bucks, rather than staying with a team potentially missing Haliburton until fall 2026, as a chance to "remain competitive."

Haliburton was diplomatic when addressing Turner's departure after 10 seasons with the Pacers in an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show later in July.

"At the end of the day, it is a business. He's got to do the best for him, and wish him the best moving forward," Haliburton said.

The Pacers have started their first season without Turner 0-4 with Haliburton still recovering while key players including Obi Toppin, Bennedict Mathurin, Andrew Nembhard and T.J. McConnell joined him on the sideline.

The Bucks improved Thursday night to 4-1 despite missing Giannis Antetokounmpo to a knee injury. Turner is averaging 10 points and 6.8 rebounds a game in the Milwaukee starting lineup.

Turner is set to reunite with his former team with a trip back to Gainbridge Fieldhouse next Monday. Haliburton will remain on the sideline, but both teams will hope to field healthier lineups in time for the matchup.
