Kevin Durant Jokingly Apologizes to Trolling Fan After Rockets' Win vs. Raptors
It's too early to judge how good Kevin Durant remains on the court as a member of the Houston Rockets. In terms of posting, the 15-time All-Star is still elite.
Following Houston's 139-121 victory over the Toronto Raptors, Durant responded to a fan who criticized him for going 5-of-8 from the free-throw line:
The 37-year-old is among the NBA members of the 50/40/90 club, which signifies shooting at least 50 percent overall, 40 percent from beyond the arc and 90 percent from the charity stripe. He has actually pulled off the feat twice (2012-13 and 2022-23), putting him in the same company as Larry Bird and Steve Nash.
Another 50/40/90 season is possible for Durant, even at this stage of his career. He hit two of those benchmarks in 2024-25 but managed to only shoot 83.9 percent on free throws.
Averaging 30-plus points is probably a bridge too far. The 6'11" forward has only gotten there twice in 18 years, the most recent of which was back in 2013-14.
Maybe some light heckling from a random fan on social media is the push KD needed to chase another scoring title.
