Which NBA Teams Have Oldest, Youngest Rosters for 2025-26 Season?
The 2025-26 NBA season officially tips off on Tuesday night, and the Los Angeles Clippers are bringing a wealth of experience to this year.
Per ESPN's Bobby Marks, the Clippers have the oldest roster in the league this season with an average age of 30.7. Conversely, the Brooklyn Nets have the youngest roster with an average age of 23.3.
The Clippers have a veteran-laden roster with eight players over the age of 30. This offseason's reunion with 40-year-old point guard Chris Paul and the addition of 37-year-old center Brook Lopez likely pushed Los Angeles over the top as the league's oldest team ahead of other aging squads like the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets.
The Nets famously used a league-record five first-round picks in this year's draft, ushering in a youth movement as they continue their rebuild. The team's roster has no players over the age of 30, with veteran wing Terance Mann as its oldest player at 29.
Rather than adding veteran free agents, Brooklyn's headlining offseason acquisition was 27-year-old swingman Michael Porter Jr., who arrived as part of a trade with the Denver Nuggets. Porter will immediately be given the reins as the focal point of the Nets' offense alongside sharpshooting guard Cam Thomas, who turned 24 last week.
The NBA continues to be a league defined by parity, so it remains to be seen whether youthful energy or veteran experience will be the key to success this season.
