LaDamion Guyton Reportedly Reclassifies to 2026 Class, 5-Star EDGE Committed to TTU
LaDamion Guyton, a 5-star edge-rusher originally in the Class of 2027, has reclassified to 2026, according to Pete Nakos of Rivals.
Guyton is currently committed to Texas Tech, though he reportedly will visit Georgia for the team's high-profile matchup against Ole Miss on Saturday.
Georgia had been the frontrunner for Guyton before his commitment to Texas Tech and hasn't given up on the pursuit.
"I mean, [the Georgia coaches] understood it," Guyton UGASports.com in September regarding his commitment to Texas Tech. "At the end of the day, I have a family. But they were just letting me know that they weren't going anywhere."
If he stays with the Red Raiders, it will be quite the recruiting haul in Lubbock. Texas Tech currently has the No. 23 recruiting class in 2026, per 247Sports' Composite Rankings, and that's before Guyton's reclassification is factored in.
He is now considered the No. 20 overall player in the Class of 2020, per the recruiting site:
Hudson Standish of 247Sports described Guyton as a "twitchy two-point edge rusher with the snap anticipation, change of direction, and initial quickness to disrupt plays before they get started" in an August scouting report, adding that he's a "potentially versatile rush piece who could supercharge a front seven early in his collegiate career. Should be viewed as a potential early-round NFL Draft selection."
