The top-ranked inside linebacker in the Class of 2017 has made a decision.

According to Scout.com's Tim Watkins, 4-star linebacker Baron Browning has committed to the Baylor Bears despite receiving offers from Alabama, TCU, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas and dozens of other schools.

"I just feel like people are gonna be like, 'why Baylor?'" Browning said, according to 247Sports' Amy Pagitt. "No offense to the other programs, but I just feel like Baylor has a brand now, and it's something I want to be a part of."

A native of Kennedale, Texas, who attends Kennedale High School, Browning has prototypical size for a linebacker at 6'3" and 220 pounds.

In addition to being the top-ranked inside linebacker in his class, according to 247Sports, Browning is also the eighth-ranked player in the state of Texas and 45th-ranked player nationally among 2017 recruits.

As Watkins noted, Baylor has now received six commitments from prospects in the Class of 2017.

"I'm 100 percent committed to Baylor," Browning said, according to Pagitt. "I'm not going to decommit. I'm going to stand strong on my word as a man. Baylor is the place that I want to be at to take my game to the next level."

With Browning's decision final and Baylor only starting to build its 2017 recruiting class, the Bears should be in good shape as they continue to woo other highly touted prospects from across the country.
