Sabres Reveal 'Beer Sabre' Concession for 2025-26 NHL Season in New Photo

The Buffalo Sabres are in the midst of the NHL's longest playoff drought, but soon their fans will have a chance to enjoy an exciting, new concession option.

In partnership with Labatt and its new Blue & Blonde Ale, the Sabres are introducing a "Beer Sabre," which will provide fans with a fun way to consume their favorite brews:

The Beer Sabre is essentially a long tube shaped like a sword and emblazoned with Sabres and Labatt branding. It is a unique spin on the hockey stick and baseball bat beer cups that are offered at some NHL and MLB games currently.

Along with the Beer Sabre, which is coming soon, the Sabres introduced the "Big Parm Thompson" during their season-opening game against the New York Rangers on Thursday.

The Big Parm Thompson is a two-foot-long chicken parmesan sandwich in honor of star forward Tage Thompson, who is a chicken parm enthusiast.

While the Sabres are making big moves on the concession front, on-ice success has proved elusive over the past several years.

Buffalo has not reached the postseason since the 2010-11 campaign, and that 14-year drought is not only the longest active drought in the NHL, but it is the longest drought in league history.

The Sabres came close to breaking through in 2022-23, missing the playoffs by one point, but they took a step backward the next two seasons.

Last season, the Sabres finished with 79 points, which were the third-fewest in the Eastern Conference.

Buffalo's 2025-26 season got off to a less-than-ideal start Thursday in the form of a 4-0 shutout loss at home against the Rangers.

The Sabres were without four key players in that game in the form of defensemen Owen Power and Michael Kesselring, forward Zach Benson and goalie Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen.

On top of that, first-line center Josh Norris suffered an upper-body injury during the game, and Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff told reporters Saturday that he will miss "a significant amount of time."

The Sabres will return to action Saturday night with a road game against the rival Boston Bruins.
