Tanner Scott Removed from Dodgers' NLDS Roster with Injury, Out for Potential NLCS
The Los Angeles Dodgers are making a roster change ahead of Thursday's Game 4 of the National League Division Series against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Major League Baseball announced it approved the addition of pitcher Justin Wrobleski as a roster substitution for relief pitcher Tanner Scott. MLB's announcement said Wrobleski is serving as an injury replacement for Scott, who will now be ineligible to participate in the National League Championship Series should the Dodgers advance.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Scott missed Game 3 because of a personal matter.

Roberts later disclosed Thursday, before Game 4, that Scott underwent a lower body abscess procedure and could return for the World Series if the Dodgers win the pennant.
"Tanner was not at the ballpark today," Roberts initially said after the Game 3 loss. "There was something going on. Personal. It will come out later, but he was completely unavailable."
Scott seemed to be a significant addition for the Dodgers when they signed him to a four-year, $72 million deal this offseason. After all, the southpaw was an All-Star in 2024 with a 1.75 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 84 strikeouts in 72 innings for the Miami Marlins and San Diego Padres.
He also didn't allow a single run with seven strikeouts in 4.1 playoff innings for the Padres last year.
However, Scott was not the bullpen star the Dodgers were hoping for when they signed him. Instead, he finished the 2025 campaign with a 4.74 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 60 strikeouts in 57 innings.
The 31-year-old has not appeared in a single postseason game for Los Angeles to this point and now won't be able to unless the team advances to the World Series.
Wrobleski isn't exactly a proven dominant option either, as he has a 4.81 ERA across 32 games during the last two seasons for the Dodgers. But he at least gives the team another healthy option and could potentially even throw in long relief since eight of his 32 career appearances were starts.
Los Angeles won the first two games of the series on the road but failed to close the Phillies out at home in Wednesday's contest. If Philadelphia can win another one on the road Thursday, it will have the opportunity to complete its comeback in the decisive Game 5 back at Citizens Bank Park.
