Best Golazos from World Football This Weekend

In recent weekends, a general dearth of games has made for some slim pickings in the golazo department. However, with the return of several European leagues, an abundance of top-class friendlies and some top-drawer domestic action in South America, the fountain of quality strikes truly did overfloweth for our latest ranking.

In fact, there were so many brilliant goals that superb friendly efforts from Thomas Muller and Ross Barkley didn't make the cut. Gyasi Zardes' volley during the USA's destruction of Cuba also falls outside the top 10, as do Jordan Larsson's curler for Helsingborg and Jhon Cley's rocket against Fluminense.

10. Shunsuke Nakamura (Yokohama F. Marinos) vs. Gamba Osaka

Yokohama F. Marinos were heading toward a 2-1 defeat in their J-League clash at Gamba Osaka.

But then, in the fourth minute of injury time, up stepped Shunsuke Nakamura.

The 37-year-old midfielder harnessed his years of experience in pressure situations to send in an unstoppable free kick off the post. Frankly, there are few better ways to salvage a last-gasp point.

9. Theo Walcott (Arsenal) vs. Everton

Arsenal lifted the 2015 Barclays Asia Trophy in Singapore on Saturday when they swept aside Everton in the final by a 3-1 scoreline.

The best goal of the game was Theo Walcott's opener in the 22nd minute, which saw the England midfielder connect with a superb Santi Cazorla through-ball for a wonderful finish.

8. Moussa Sow (Fenerbahce) vs. Vitoria Guimaraes

Fenerbahce earned a 3-1 won over Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes on Saturday, thanks in part to a special moment from Moussa Sow.

The French forward met a deflected ball in the area with a world-class overhead kick.

7. Natasha Flint (England U19s) vs. Spain U19s

England's U19 ladies suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Spain in the U-19 European Championships in Israel on Saturday.

The Lionesses, however, opened the scoring after just nine minutes with a sensational 40-yard lob from Manchester City's Natasha Flint.

6. Danilo Moreno Asprilla (Lovech) vs. Ludogorets

During Lovech's clash with fellow Bulgarian A FG (top flight) contenders Ludogorets, Diogo Viana found himself in the peculiar situation of scoring a superb goal and then getting immediately sent off for removing his shirt off and picking up a second yellow card.

Viana's Lovech teammate Danilo Moreno Asprilla, however, overshadowed that bizarre series of events in the 2-0 win with a stunning solo golazo of his own.

The Colombian picked up the ball deep in his own half and proceeded to beat off the advances of several opponents before putting the ball in the back of the net.

It's the kind of individual effort that Lionel Messi would be proud of.

5. Vladyslav Kalitvintsev (Chornomorets Odesa) vs. Olimpik Donetsk

Despite continued political troubles in Ukraine, the nation's Premier League kicked off in its reduced format for the 2015-16 season on Saturday.

The standout goal of the opening day was Vladyslav Kalitvintsev's stupendous strike for Chornomorets Odesa during their 2-2 draw at Olimpik Donetsk.

The 22-year-old midfielder opened the scoring on the day with a 30-yard strike with a swerve that appeared to defy gravity.

4. Andreas Poli (Milan) vs. Lyon

Days before they head to China for a preseason tour, Milan suffered a 2-1 defeat at Lyon. However, midfielder Andrea Poli offered the Rossoneri encouragement by putting away an absolute thronker in the 75th minute.

By the time Poli had found the net, Lyon had already scored a stunner, from the left boot of Nabil Fekir in a dead-ball situation.

3. Samir Nasri (Manchester City) vs. Melbourne City

Melbourne City hosted their parent company Manchester City for a friendly encounter on the Gold Coast on Saturday evening.

The match was settled four minutes before the final whistle when Samir Nasri collected a cross with his chest and proceeded to rifle the ball into the top-right corner.

2. Robert Vilceanu (Voluntari) vs. Petrolul Ploiesti

You may not have heard of Romanian striker Robert Vilceanu, but judging by his sensational golazo on Saturday, the 18-year-old might be a name to look out for in the future.

The Voluntari forward, who is currently on loan from Steaua Bucharest, showed a moment of class in his side's Romanian Liga I clash with Petrolul Ploiesti when he received a throw-in, turned his body and hit an outstanding half-volley.
