UCF CFB Unveils 2025 'Space U' Uniforms in Hype Video, Photos
UCF football released its new uniforms for the ninth annual Space Game, which will take place on Friday, Nov. 7 against Houston.
UCF was founded in 1963 to educate and provide talented people for the American space industry. The university, which is in Orlando, is notably near the Kennedy Space Center, located in Cape Canaveral, Florida. The school's nickname is SpaceU.
This year's uniform pays respect to the UCF Hyperspace Center, which launched last October.
Chad Binette of UCF Today provided more information on the center last year.
"A new UCF center of excellence will aim to advance the technology that fuels hypersonic travel — at speeds up to 13,000 miles per hour — to help enhance national defense and open up new frontiers in space exploration," Binette wrote.
"UCF launched the Center of Excellence in Hypersonic and Space Propulsion — HyperSpace Center for short — on Wednesday alongside leaders of the U.S. Air Force Office of Scientific Research, one of the university's main partners in hypersonic research."
UCF is undefeated in the Space Game with a perfect 8-0 record dating back to 2017. Last year, UCF crushed Arizona 56-12. The theme for that Space Game was "powering humankind's return to the Moon," highlighting UCF's role in the Artemis program.
The Knights began this year with three straight wins under head coach Scott Frost, who is in his first season in his second tenure at UCF. However, they've since dropped a couple Big 12 games to Kansas State (34-20) and Kansas (27-20).
UCF hopes to get in the conference win column Saturday at Cincinnati. The Knights then have a home game against West Virginia and a road matchup at Baylor before the Space Game.
