Tre Lamar to Clemson: Tigers Land 4-Star LB Prospect
The Clemson Tigers have added 4-star recruit Tre Lamar to their linebacking corps. Lamar announced his decision on Twitter:
The inside linebacker was the eighth-best prospect at his position and No. 15 coming out of the state of Georgia, according to 247Sports. According to the website, he turned down offers from Auburn and Alabama.
Lamar discussed his decision to choose Clemson with Nikki Hood of TigerNet.com:
"I just felt like Clemson was the most comfortable place. I felt like it was the right choice for me and my family. I had kind of already decided to commit. I talked to my family before we came up here because I just had a good feeling.
"
At 6'4", 240 pounds, Lamar recorded 131 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and four sacks in his senior season at Georgia's Roswell High School, according to Yahoo Sports. Lamar is the third linebacker Clemson has received a commitment from. Inside linebackers and twins Judah and J.D. Davis signed letters of intent on February 4, according to 247Sports.
