Taylor Swift Shouts Out Real Madrid on 'Life of a Showgirl' Track 'Wi$h Li$t'

Real Madrid received a shoutout from Taylor Swift on a track from her latest album The Life of a Showgirl that dropped on Friday.

On the song "Wi$h Li$t," Swift makes reference to someone wanting "a contract with Real Madrid."

Sevilla had some fun with the reference to their La Liga counterpart, noting their musical preferences lied elsewhere:

The song is sung from a first-person perspective about the narrator's dreams for their own life, like "a driveway with a basketball hoop" and "a couple kids" with someone who may or may not currently play tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs.

In an interview with iHeartRadio (starts at 3:35 mark), Swift picked "Wi$h Li$t" as her favorite song on the new album and described it as reflecting a "very accurate stance on where I'm at in life."

"It details all these things that people aspire to have in their lives. ... then in the chorus it talks about what mine would be," Swift added.

The line about Real Madrid comes during the second verse when Swift sings, "They want it all/They want a contract with Real Madrid/They want that spring break that was f--kin' lit."

It's a good pick-me-up moment for Los Blancos to be mentioned by Swift coming off the heartbreak of finishing second to Barcelona during the 2024-25 La Liga season. They are off to a good start in the Champions League with two wins and a plus-six goal differential from two games.

Who knows, if Real Madrid is able to get to the Champions League final next spring, the club could try to extend an offer to the Grammy-winning superstar to attend for good luck.
